In Person Course for Mitras: The Bodhisattva Ideal

Sep 23 to Nov 11, 7pm to 9pm

8 Weeks from Monday Sep 23 to Nov 11, 7pm to 9pm, in person at the SFBC

Open to all Mitras.

The Bodhisattva Ideal is one of the Core modules of the Triratna Mitra Dharma Training, based on a series of talks by Sangharakshita.  It is part of Year 3 of the Training, but is suitable for all Mitras.

Here are the talks on Free Buddhist Audio.  The transcripts are in the course materials here.  There is also a book based on the talks, with a bit more information: The Bodhisattva Ideal.

"Some of the most important doctrines and practices of Mahāyāna Buddhism are covered here, including: The Arising of the Bodhicitta; The Bodhisattva Vow; The practice of the Six Perfections (Pāramitās); The Ten Stages (bhūmis) of the Bodhisattva Path; The Bodhisattva hierarchy and the Trikāya doctrine."

Each week we will join the Online group to meditate before we begin our discussion in person at the SFBC.

In preparation for Week One please read and/or listen to the Introduction and the first section: the Origin and Development of the Bodhisattva Ideal, and reflect on the questions.
