Weekend Practice

Usually the third Saturday of each month, 10am to 4pm.

These monthly day retreats are a great opportunity to experience the benefits of retreat without leaving the city. Each month, through meditation, reflection and discussion, we will explore a different aspect of practice and see for ourselves how it relates to living well today. They are open to anyone interested in the topics, and no particular experience is required, though if you haven't meditated before you might consider taking one of our introductory classes.

Day Retreats

Day Retreat Saturday August 10, 10am to 4pm
Sat, Aug 10, 2024

This Day Retreat will be led by special guest Paramabodhi, visiting from the UK.

Inspired by the Satipatthana Sutta and the direct teachings of the Buddha, Paramabodhi will emphasize the use of our imagination to engage fully with this beautiful sutta and deepen our mindfulness practice.

The Satipatthana is one of the most influential meditation texts in Buddhism, and can support us to live with more embodied awareness, contentment and insight.

This is a not-to-be missed chance to spend the day contemplating and meditating on this sutta with someone who has over 40 years of experience in guiding people to do this.

This retreat concludes a 3 week Sangha Night series on Wednesdays: Mindfulness as Insight Practice. You do not need to attend the whole series, although that is highly recommended.

Please pre-register below.

As a taster, here is 'Mindfulness of the Buddha' week one at LBC.
