DANA (GENEROSITY OR GIVING)
Thank you for considering making a donation!
The San Francisco Buddhist Center runs on generosity. Teachers and class teams offer their time, skills and experience voluntarily. All financial donations go to keeping the Center running so that we can continue to offer classes, courses, retreats and other events to anyone wishing to attend. Apart from the Center Director who receives some support for administrative work, we are an entirely volunteer-run community.
Our basic expenses are about $8000 a month, which is covered by Dana, income from courses and retreats, rent and fundraisers. Please let us know if you would like a copy of our budget so you can get a better idea of what it takes to keep the Center’s doors open.
DANA PROGRAM
We welcome donations any time and of any amount! However it really helps us to plan when people are able to pledge in advance and pay a monthly or annual amount.
Participating in the Dana Program means making a regular financial commitment to the Center. Those participating in the Dana Program attend Sangha Night at no charge. Pledges currently range from $10/month to $250/month.
If your financial situation should ever change you can always let us know and make a modification to your pledge.
You can use your credit card online to set a recurring payment so you don’t have to think about it. If you have questions about, or would like to participate in, our Dana Program, please email or call or talk to us when you next come to the center.
