Abhayamoksha was ordained into the Triratna Buddhist Order in May 2023, on a three month retreat at Guhyaloka Retreat Center in Spain. His name means "He who is liberated through fearlessness".
He grew up in Buffalo, NY and tried out a few different buddhist communities before moving to SF in 2011. He immediately felt at home at the SFBC, drawn in by the open and inviting community. He especially values his deep friendships that grew here over the years. He really enjoys meditating, especially with others, and talking about the dharma. He often helps out with introductory classes and sometimes at Sangha Night.
You can usually find him out in nature - surfing, kitesurfing, hiking, camping. Recently, he also enjoys drawing a daily cartoon and playing the blues on guitar.
