Dear beloved community, season's greetings and welcome to the SFBC Winter 2024 EDJI blog! The EDJI team and members of the Sangha have put together a wonderful collection of stories, news and sharings related to social and racial justice, including its connection to environmental justice. November was Native American Heritage Month and helen shares about the ways in which our local SFBC community engaged with this ongoing process of honoring those whose land we are on. Additionally, Prasadachitta shares stories about our developing relationship with the Pomo tribe, the local Native American people of the Land upon which Dharmadhara sits.
Additionally, we have features from two amazing activists and writers in our sangha. Viveka shares her experience and knowledge of personal healing and collective liberation in the world of social justice, and rodashruti shares the latest episodes of a radio program that she co-produces, about visible and invisible borders that keep people divided.
And lastly, five Sangha members who are currently participating in the white Awareness is Revolutionary (wAIR) yearlong training share their reflections about this course. This particular program is designed for people who present as white, and who seek to
explore the work of undoing racism within a Buddhist framework.
