Sangha Nights in April and May: Healing through Patience
Wednesdays, 7pm to 9pm, in person and on zoom
Ksanti Paramita – the Perfection of Patience, Forbearance, Receptivity
Kshanti is the patience that sees deeply into the nature of reality, accepting difficulties not with resignation, but with an open heart.
~ Sangharakshita
Kshanti is not passive tolerance but an active engagement with life’s challenges, holding both ourselves and others in compassionate understanding.” ~ Vajratara
Continuing our Wednesday night theme – Hearts that Heal – in April and May we will explore the healing powers of the third Paramita of the Bodhisattva Path: Ksanti Paramita. This is the perfection of patience, forbearance and receptivity. Building on the first two Paramitas – Dana, or Generosity, and Sila or Ethics, we’ll explore, among other things, the ways that cultivating these qualities can deepen our understanding of suffering so we avoid the pitfalls of despondency and reactivity ,and respond with more wisdom and compassion.
