An Evening of Music, Art, Dharma and Devotion

An Evening of Music, Art, Dharma and Devotion

Friday October 10, 7pm to 9pm

Contemporary Mystics Revere Sonic Devotion, with Vimalamoksha

To step into the vast fulfillment beyond the conscious mind is to savor the bridge between spirit and matter, to begin releasing what is known so we can be affirmed by all that is. This casual evening of sonic devotion will explore how contemporary pop and sub-pop music can echo the wisdom of the ancient Masters.

Using the framework of Triratna’s system of practice (Integration, Positive Emotion, Receptivity, Spiritual Death and Spiritual Rebirth) Vimalamoksha will share a song for each of the five stages, offering brief reflections on how these pieces of music have supported his own deepening understanding. Together, we will consider how contemporary art can reveal the Dharma unfolding within our cultural moment—reminding us that art can join reason and emotion in powerful collaboration to accelerate transformation.

Some experience of Buddhist Meditation and Teachings recommended, but open to anyone with an interest.
