Mitra Study - Going For Refuge to the Three Jewels

Mitra Study – Going For Refuge to the Three Jewels

Mondays, Sep 15 to Oct 27, 7pm to 9, skipping Oct 20

Going for Refuge to the Three Jewels – the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha, is central to practice in the Triratna Buddhist Community. This course gives an introduction to Dharma Study and explores the meaning and support for practice offered by each Jewel.

The main aim of this course is to help people to improve their lives and mental states, rather than to give information about Buddhism for intellectual interest. But to practice the Dharma we need to know the Dharma, and Buddhist ideas have a transformative effect in their own right, by changing the way we see the world, and therefore the way we feel and act.

It is intended for new SFBC Mitras; people who would like to further deepen their practice with us, perhaps considering becoming a Mitra; and Mitras who would simply like to revisit this important topic. If you are not sure if it is suitable for you please don’t hesitate to contact us.
