Sangha Nights in March: the Healing Power of Ethics
Wednesdays, 7pm to 9pm
Sila Paramita – the Perfection of Skillful Action
Never mind karma and rebirth, or past and future; what is important is how we shape ourselves in the present moment. ~ Sangharakshita
Continuing our Wednesday night theme – Hearts that Heal – in March we will explore the healing powers of the second Paramita of the Bodhisattva Path: Sila Paramita. This is the perfection of skillful or ethical action, acting in accordance with the Buddhist Ethical Precepts (link) as a way to freedom from greed, hatred and delusion. Building on the first Paramita – Dana, or Generosity, we look more deeply at our actions and their impact, and ask ourselves how we can act in ways that cause less suffering and more freedom, even when the world seems to be going in the opposite direction.
March 5: Acarasiddhi takes us from Generosity to Ethics
March 12: SFBC Party and Fundraiser at Foreign Cinema – tickets available through Eventbrite!
March 19: Sila/Ethics talk and Puja, with Mokshasi
March 26: Sila/Ethics with Prasadachitta
Everyone is welcome to Sangha Night
