Mini Meditation Retreat
Saturday August 22, 9am to 12
Join us at the SFBC for a quiet morning of meditation and silence.
Spend a few hours in the simplicity of silence and shared practice. You’re welcome to attend the entire morning or any portion of it. If arriving after the start, please plan to come during one of the scheduled breaks (see below), as we won’t be able to admit people during meditation periods.
Meditation sessions will be unguided, with bells marking the beginning and end of each sit. Enjoy the support of practicing together in silence in our shrine room.
Suitable for:
Anyone with enough experience to meditate without guidance.
Practice environment:
Cushions, benches, chairs, and blankets are available. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring layers, as temperatures can vary.
By donation:
By donation at the door or online. Suggested donation: $10 – $50, or whatever you can afford. No one turned away for lack of funds.
All donations support the running of the SFBC and help maintain a space for shared practice.
Care:
Please take care of yourself and others. If you are feeling unwell or have symptoms of a contagious illness, we ask that you do not attend.
Schedule / access:
Session 1: Doors open at 8:45am and close by 9am
Meditation 9am to 9:40am, followed by 10 minutes optional walking meditation, and a 10 minute break to lie down, take a break, or leave.
Session 2: Doors open at 9:50am and close by 10am
Meditation 10am to 10:40am, followed by 10 minutes optional walking meditation, and a 10 minute break to lie down, take a break, or leave.
Session 3: Doors open at 10:50am and close by 11am.
Meditation 11am to 11:40am
