Celebrating Life, Death and Sangha

Sangha Nights in November - Wednesdays 7pm to 9pm

This November we will celebrate those we've lost, the preciousness of life, and the Sangha we share.

Nov 6: Celebrating Life and Death

Every year on a Sangha Night close to Day of the Dead/ Dia de los muertos we take the opportunity to get together and celebrate the lives of those we have lost in the recent past.  Please bring photographs or souvenirs to place on the shrine to remember your loved ones. All welcome.

Nov 13: The History of Breath

The breath is central to Buddhist practice, and has been very important to many spiritual traditions for thousands of years, up to and including present-day "stress reduction" practices.    But why?  What is it, exactly, that is so important about breathing?

On this Sangha Night Pete will share thoughts on what it is that the breath points to, what it connects us with, and what it opens us to.  We will meditate together, bringing our attention to the breath, examine recent scientific research into the connection between breathing and mental states, and explore the biological history of breathing on planet Earth.

Nov 20: Sangha Festival

November is the month we especially celebrate Sangha - the community we practice with and the third of the 3 jewels: Buddha, Dharma, Sangha.  We welcome all our friends to share this opportunity to celebrate the support Sangha gives us on our path.

Nov 27:

Taking a break for the holidays - we will be back December 4.
