"Therefore remember that the practices of hatha yoga, asana, and pranayama
are ultimately intended for developing the quality of human consciousness, not just the body."

Hatha yoga helps us to be more aware of our bodies, which supports
the process of developing mindfulness and other meditative states of
mind. This is why Hatha Yoga is an excellent complement to and
preparation for the practice of meditation. Emphasizing awareness and
non-competitive in nature, yoga increases flexibility, balance, and
strength. Our aim for these classes is to go beyond the merely physical
or mental side of our being to embody all of ourselves.
Friday Class: Awakening the Body, Mind, and Heart - an Hour of Yoga and Meditation
Fridays, 6:00pm-7:00pm (No class after Dec 16 and in January)
Donation: $10* (exact change appreciated.)
Most people don't realize that the physical practice of Hatha
yoga was created thousands of years ago for
the purpose of preparing for meditation. Please join us for this unique
class of Hatha Yoga and guided Buddhist meditation.
Thirty minutes of active flowing yoga gets our blood
moving,
bringing us in tune with our breath and cultivating a calm, receptive
body and mind so that we're completely ready to enjoy and explore
thirty minutes of sitting meditation. Moving mindfully with our breath
increases our capacity to tune into a more refined and subtle sense of
positive motivation, caring for ourselves and caring for others. Yoga mats and meditation cushions provided.
Suggested donation $10-$5*, or whatever you can afford.
Open to all
levels of experience with yoga and meditation.
