Summer Meditation Immersion Retreat

Opening with Loving Kindness
Jun 12–19 (Fri 9pm to Fri 6pm) at Jikoji.
or Jun 12–14 (Fri 9pm to Sun 6pm)
Our annual summer meditation immersion retreat is held in silence, simplicity and spaciousness. The program offers sustained periods of sitting and walking meditation, periods of instruction and guidance and the experience of living with a like-minded community of those curious to go deeper into meditation practice. Participants range from beginners just introduced to meditation to seasoned practitioners.

This year’s teaching will explore the full implications of loving kindness (metta) meditation by:
o Looking into and softening the ways we perceive and polarize self and other including categories of friends, enemies and strangers
o Cultivating well-being and ease within ourselves so we can be more clear and open in the world
o Further opening metta in the practice of the 4 Immeasurables which expands to include compassion, joyfulness and equanimity.

Shantinayaka and Viveka are experienced meditation teachers who teach locally and have each led popular retreats for over a decade throughout the US and internationally. They enjoy a friendship rooted in a mutual love of meditation. Together they are committed to the process of genuine awakening emerging through the supportive conditions of retreat.
